· Though based in Dallas, this role will require occasional international travel.

Job Description:

Operating in 60 countries, with over 43,000 international employees, our client, a world leader in building, civil engineering, electrical contracting and maintenance, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager.

The Project

Located in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, the assignment is a 2 year project comprising two office / residential towers on 8 levels of retail and five basements (154,000 m², ca. USD 150 Million).

The Role

· Phase 1 – Assisting the Project Manager while project staff are mobilising:

· Enabling works subcontractors, labour suppliers and materials suppliers.

· Recruiting staff

· Setting up Contracts / QS department

· Setting up commercial procedures - daily record sheets, CVIs, RFIs

· Attending meetings

· Phase 2 – Project Running:

· Management of the QS department.

· Writing and responding to contractual correspondence.

· Participation in project meetings, advising PM and other section leaders (Technical, Admin, Programming, Plant etc.) on the commercial implications of their actions.

· Ensuring that rights to claims / variations are not time barred.

· Phase 3 - Project Completion

· Finalising variations

· Pursuing claims as necessary

Title: FW2008010 - Sub Contracts Manager

Job Description:

Our client, one of the leading companies in the international oil and gas sector, requires an experienced Subcontracts Manager for approximately 18months.

Project

EPC construction of an ultra low sulphur diesel facility in an existing refinery.

The Project will involve the construction of new facilities and the upgrade of existing units.

Construction has already begun and is estimated to end in July 2009.

The Role

Required to provide subcontract expertise throughout the various phases of the project, with the following responsibilities:

· Management of assigned 4 company subcontracts:

· Temp facilities

· Site preparations

· Shutdown (of existing plant equipment)

· Structure steel

· Development of overall Subcontract Management strategies on various Systems programmes.

· Identification and management of all risks and opportunities associated with the sub contracts, working with the project management team to establish corrective action and risk mitigation plans as required.

· Provision of regular reports on sub-contractor performance; forecasts concerning completion of sub-contracts; and related cash-flow projections.

· Provision of commercial and contractual expertise.

· Undertaking administrative tasks relating to work in progress; being proactively involved in managing the work being carried out by sub-contractors.

· Responsible for 1 Subcontractor Engineer and 2 Quantity Surveyors, the Subcontracts Manager must be able to interact and communicate at various levels, both internal and external to the organisation, including coordination with company senior management to review contractual documents and resolve related administrative issues.

Fairway currently have a need for a qualified Quantity Surveyor with dispute management experience within the construction industry.

Responsibilities will include:

· Preparing and defending claims.

· Supporting experts in adjudications/abitrations/letigations.

· Assisting employers, contractors or insurers and their legal teams in analysing and reporting on quantum and contractual claims for projects such as airport facilities; highway interchanges; offshore facilities and public buildings.

· Involvement in developing strategies behind formulating and defending claims.
Experience:

· Over ten years’ senior level experience, in the management of construction projects.

· Commercial management experience, acting for both clients and contractors on a variety of major projects.

· Project/construction management experience on a range of construction projects.

· Must have excellent report writing skills.

· General industry exposure – specialisation in areas such as M&E and Civils would be an advantage.
