Fairway is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Swan as a Director.  He is based in the London office.

Richard’s career to date spans two distinct but very successful periods.  He spent twenty years in the British Army as a Royal Engineer Officer, having been sponsored through University by the Army.  Subsequent to this he has been a project manager, a dispute consultant and expert witness.  He specialises in the provision of quantum, project management, and delay expert witness services, as well as commercial management, construction contracts and claims analysis.

He is an accredited Expert Witness and is currently Chairman of the Academy of Experts.  He has given oral expert evidence in both litigation and arbitration proceedings, including expert witness conferencing (“hot-tubbing”).  The scope of his expert witness experience ranges from shipbuilding, oil and gas and other energy related projects (both on and off shore) through to building and civil engineering projects.

Richard Swan commented on his arrival at Fairway, “I am delighted to be appointed to join Fairway.  I am impressed by its critical mass of known names in the dispute resolution and expert witness field, each ably supported by talented staff with experience in a very diverse range of projects and construction sectors.  It has an aura of corporate growth potential and career development for staff and I look forward to contributing to that, as well as widening my own field of expertise through working with my new colleagues”.

Richard Bryer, Fairway’s Managing Director said, “Richard joining Fairway as a Director is a significant appointment for our business and one which we are delighted to announce.  Richard’s expertise in quantum and planning will naturally complement our current team’s expertise, but his experience in project management expert witness work and in the shipbuilding sector will provide us with greater strength in depth in these areas”.
