Fairway is celebrating its 20th anniversary

Posted on 6th December 2010

20 years ago Fairway was formed to provide a range of services focused on independent advice associated with the avoidance, management and resolution of international construction and engineering disputes. As well as celebrating its past successes, Fairway also looks to the future.

Iain Wishart, who has previously held the position of Managing Director and more recently, Chairman, said: “From our modest beginnings of two Directors and a secretary over twenty years ago, Fairway has since worked in over 80 countries on some of the world’s largest construction projects in the building, civil engineering, manufacturing and capital plant industries.

In that time, we have provided consistently high quality and specialised advice from very experienced construction professionals. Following the sale of the last of my shares to Gardiner & Theobald earlier this year I am standing down as Chairman of the company.

Richard Bryer, who was recently appointed as Managing Director, leads the Fairway team and he, his fellow Directors and colleagues will, I know, maintain the same quality of service to our clients and manage Fairway as a successful company. I look forward to working with them in the future, albeit in a different capacity”.

Richard Bryer, Fairway’s Managing Director commented: “The Company has now grown to around 60 staff in offices located in 5 countries worldwide. During the next twelve months we intend to celebrate our 20th anniversary as well as planning for the future. We are indebted to Iain Wishart for his leadership and guidance over the last 20 years.

I know that at Fairway we have a very accomplished and talented team, which provides extremely high quality advice in what can on occasions be particularly difficult circumstances. We are grateful to our clients for their continued support, particularly in the face of the challenging global markets.

We have made some key strategic decisions and staff appointments in the last few months both in the UK and overseas, which will be of great benefit to the business over the coming months and years”.
